This wedding was such a special one for me, as it was the second one that I had planned for this family, and many of the guests were past and current clients. I ended up planning three weddings, three years in a row, for this family at their home on the Eastern shore of Maryland. It was incredibly special to me to be able to be a part of all of their large family memories. 

Lily and Adam met when they were nine and ten years old at school. Lily is an attorney, and Adam co-owns a startup with one of his brothers, and they live in San Francisco. 

Lily and Adam chose to have a wedding weekend with all of their family and friends at their vacation home on the Eastern Shore. Susan Gage is their family caterer and we worked with them for all three events.  They started out the weekend with an outdoor rehearsal dinner for 40 guests along the water under a trellis covered in lights and greenery, done by Social Supply. Adam loves all things fossils, so the dinner had a Cabinet of Curiosities theme.

On Friday evening, they decided to have a disco-themed welcome party with one of their favorite bands, which is an ABBA cover band that they had both heard at many Princeton reunions. They both went to Princeton. Everyone came dressed up in '70s attire, and we had
a light-up LED dance floor, a disco ball cups for specialty drinks, a vintage photo booth and a vintage Volkswagen Beetle.
 
The wedding day was the most perfect weather ever. I always say that if I could order wedding weather, it would have been the weather that we got that weekend. Everyone was so happy and enjoyed being out on the water for the ceremony. Cocktails were also by the water and close to the house, and then they moved over to the tent for the reception.

They were in a sailcloth tent, from Skyline Tent Company, which we built with large trees around each of the tent poles, done by Sophie Felts, and then had trees and other greenery that lined the edge along the water. We used blues and greens with touches of yellows, alluding to the water and then the sunset that would later occur that evening. Simply Irresistible was the band, a formal dance band, and all of the guests loved watching their choreography and really got into the dancing portion of the evening.
